A detailed description of how this website was built.
matthewhowell.net is a static website.
The source files are written in HTML, CSS, Markdown, Vento, and JavaScript. Those files are stored in a git repository, hosted at sourcehut.
A static site generator called Eleventy processes the source files and outputs HTML. Previous versions of this site were built with Hugo and later Zola. Lots of other folks seem to like Astro quite a bit.
The resulting HTML files are hosted on Netlify and Cloudflare.
The site uses the lovely IBM Plex Sans, which is generously licensed under SIL Open Font License. The site hosts its own Web Open Font Format files because, well, who knows what Google Fonts is tracking.
